Joseph Kobzon is an epoch in the cultural life of Russia. He is not a mere recipient of Nature’s generous gifts, a splendid voice, a subtle appreciation of the intricacies of popular stage, a superb artistic taste and an exquisite word sense, but also a keeper of genuine artistic principles and a staunch defender of his civil position. He has never turned around, keeping to the ideals that he holds above all else.
